Leading ingredients supplier Zeelandia and Glovers Bakery held two highly successful open days on the 18th May and 19th May, at the Glovers shop in Leyland. The focus of the event was to promote good quality specialty breads.
Zeelandia provided all the technical knowledge, promotional material and ingredients. Our focus was on the four products Prokorn, Fiesta Corn, Exact Ciabatta and O’mega. All of these products excelled in eating quality and looked fantastic on display.
The Ciabatta was made into squares, Fiesta Corn into tins, rolls and cobs. Prokorn was made into hand made loafs and O’mega took the shape of the heart as well as tins and rolls.
Tony Bain of Glovers states “Despite the open day event being the first for Glovers Bakery, everything went very smoothly, and the final display was very impressive. The customer response on the day and the feed back since has been amazing! It has been all positive and consumers have been seeking assurance that they will be able to purchase the products again”
Both open days were a real triumph with virtually all the breads being sold. The shop on Saturday was very busy despite the event facing stiff competition from the FA Cup and a Radio 1 concert in Preston. Every consumer who purchased a loaf of bread was entered into a raffle where they could win either bottles of wine and vouchers from either Glovers or Boots.
Darren Rowles, Technical Sales Executive of Zeelandia comments “The outstanding success of the two open days is a significant reward for all the work and dedication that went into the planning and preparation. We are fully expectant that the success of the speciality and healthy breads will continue”.
On the back of this success, Glovers are hoping to hold more open days at some of their other shops.
