unique mincemeat
tasting experience ahead of Christmas rush

With UK consumers expected to consume over 800 million mince pies this Christmas, bakery ingredients manufacturer Zeelandia UK is hosting a unique tasting experience to help craft bakers and wholesalers create the perfect mince pie for the festive period.

The live webinar will take place on Thursday the 7th October at 2pm and the first 30 bakers signed-up will receive a sample box of Zeelandia’s latest mincemeat blends.

Wigan based bakery ingredients manufacturer Flemings Zeelandia produce thousands of tonnes of mincemeat for mince pies in their factory each year, including traditional ingredients such as raisins, sultanas and currants mixed with premium spirits and liquors.

Zeelandia UK, which is renowned for providing the highest quality bakery ingredients to the industrial, craft and in-store bakery sectors, acquired Flemings in 2017. It is a leading UK producer of fillings including mincemeat, jams, jellies, and caramel for use in industrial baking.

As well as exploring the origins and traditions of the mince pie, the webinar will look at modern day trends and will cover Zeelandia’s special mincemeat blends which include, suet-free, Gin and rum, chocolate, caramel and vegan ingredients.

Paul Martin, Sales Manager has worked Flemings for nearly 20 years and is looking forward to hosting the experience.

He said, “While the traditional mince pie will always be a popular hit with consumers, we know that UK bakers will be looking for innovative flavours that will make their pies stand out from the crowd this Christmas.

In our very first live tasting experience since the Covid-19 pandemic struck, we are looking forward to exploring the very latest mincemeat trends with bakers to help create a recipe for success.”
