Zeelandia UK
raise over £4,500
for charity partners

Derian House Childrens Hospice and Colchester & Ipswich Hospitals Charity were chosen to give back to those who continued to provide a lifeline and support local communities during the Covid-19 pandemic.

We are delighted to announce that Zeelandia UK raised a total of £4,727.54 for charities during 2021.

The majority of the money is to be donated to our two charity partnerships for 2021: Derian House Childrens Hospice and Colchester & Ipswich Hospitals Charity. The charities were chosen to give back to those who continued to provide a lifeline and support local communities during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Colchester & Ipswich Hospitals Charity is based near our Technical Centre in Colchester and provides grants for improving patient care, medical research, capital developments, and staff development and wellbeing.

Angie Tillett, Senior Community Fundraising Manager at Colchester & Ipswich Hospitals Charity, said: “We were honoured to have Zeelandia as our charity partner during 2021. We loved hearing all about their fundraising events and we are also very grateful for the delicious donations of cakes and treats for our events too. On behalf of the charity and the local community, I’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone at Zeelandia who supported us so generously.”

Our second charity, Derian House Children’s Hospice, supports children and young people living with life-limiting or life-threatening conditions and is based near the Flemings Zeelandia site in Wigan.

In addition to our charity partners, we will be donating to Macmillan Cancer Support. To raise these funds, the team took part in the Macmillan Mighty Hikes, ran a tuck shop, did a sky dive, and Managing Director David Amos undertook a Santa Fun Run for Colchester & Ipswich Hospitals Charity.

David Amos said: “It was fantastic to be able to take part in the Santa Run, it was such a positive event with the community in Colchester and raised money for a wonderful cause. Thanks to everyone’s generous donations, the fun run raised £250 for Colchester & Ipswich Hospitals Charity, a charity close to the heart of so many of our staff.”
