Zeelandia announces Colchester &
Ipswich Hospitals Charity
as charity partner of the year

Zeelandia UK, part of the global baking ingredients manufacturer Royal Zeelandia Group, has announced a new charity of the year partnership with Colchester & Ipswich Hospitals Charity.

The company, which is renowned for providing the highest quality bakery ingredients to the industrial, craft and in-store bakery sectors, prides itself on the close relationship it has with customers to provide product advice and create tailor-made developments and solutions.

Corporate Social Responsibility has always been at the heart of Zeelandia, and in 2019 the family run business introduced a new CSR strategy, with the UK team committing to regular fundraising activities through staff get togethers, cake sales, quizzes and more.  Most recently the team raised over £200 for Comic Relief and donated over £1,000 to local charities at Christmas.

Colchester & Ipswich Hospitals Charity is one of two key charity partners chosen by Zeelandia as ‘Charity of the year’, based near their Technical Centre in Colchester. The second chosen charity is Derian House Childrens Hospice, based near the Flemings Zeelandia site in Wigan.

David Amos, Managing Director at Zeelandia UK, said: “I am delighted to announce this new charity partnership which comes close to the heart of all our staff. Following a year full of many challenges faced by the Covid-19 pandemic, it is more important than ever that we give back to those charities that continued to provide a lifeline and support our local communities – and I can’t think of a better cause then to support our NHS workers.”

“We look forward to hosting many fundraising activities over the coming year to show our appreciation for Colchester & Ipswich Hospitals Charity.”

Colchester & Ipswich Hospitals Charity was set up to fundraise and provide grants for improving patient care and experience, local medical research, and capital developments, as well as staff development and wellbeing at East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust.

Their vision is to continue to drive significant improvement in patient experience and support the Trust be an outstanding provider of health services.

Zeelandia UK will be planning a series of staff quizzes and fundraising activities as well as donating some cakes for ESNEFT’s annual birthday and future events.

Sandra Gosney, Fundraising Manager, said: “We are so delighted to be working with Zeelandia. It’s been a tough year in our hospitals and this kind of recognition of the superb work of our teams is very exciting. With Zeelandia’s help we can champion the great work of our staff and help to make our hospitals even better for all in our communities.”
