Zeelandia UK announce new carbon-cutting partnership with Merseyside-based SSO Logistics

Zeelandia UK is delighted to share a new carbon-cutting partnership with Merseyside-based SSO Logistics, a move that is significantly reducing our environmental impact by cutting delivery miles and tracking the carbon footprint of every shipment.

The partnership leverages the strategic location of Zeelandia’s manufacturing facility, which is situated just 0.8 miles from Pallet-Track’s Northern Hub in Ashton-in-Makerfield.

Thanks to this proximity, SSO Logistics can efficiently collect our ingredients, including mincemeat, jams, caramels, and fruit fillings, before shipping them directly to destinations across the UK.

This streamlined process dramatically cuts down on wasted mileage and unnecessary carbon emissions, marking a significant step forward in our environmental goals.

To celebrate the collaboration, SSO Logistics has added two new green-liveried MAN 18T rigid vehicles to its fleet, a visual symbol of our shared commitment to a greener future.

Martin Sanderson, Operations Director at Zeelandia UK Limited, commented on the new initiative, stating:

“By partnering with SSO and using Pallet-Track’s hub right on our doorstep, Zeelandia UK is cutting delivery miles and tracking the carbon footprint of every shipment – a big step forward in our mission to reduce our environmental impact.

“We are proud of working with such a forward-thinking logistics partner, with our shared focus on sustainability.”

This collaboration aligns with a broader industry-wide push for genuine emissions reduction.

Zeelandia UK is incredibly pleased to be involved in such a great initiative, reinforcing our commitment to not only producing high-quality bakery ingredients but also to doing so in a way that is responsible and respectful of the environment.
